Optimized Reduced Field of View and Fat Suppression Methods for Interleaved Multislice In Vivo Cardiac Diffusion Tensor Imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Slice interleaving, a limited phase encode (PE) field of view (FOV), and effective fat suppression are vital for efficient cardiac diffusion tensor imaging (cDTI) with minimal artifacts. This study aimed to optimize reduced FOV and fat suppression methods for interleaved multislice cDTI to improve signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) and ...

Electron vortices in crystals

open access: yes, 2011
The propagation of electron beams carrying angular momentum in crystals is studied using a multislice approach for the model system Fe. It is found that the vortex beam is distorted strongly due to elastic scattering.

Evaluation of Third‐Order Motion‐Compensated Cardiac Diffusion Tensor Imaging Across Cardiac Phases Using an Ultra‐High‐Performance Clinical Scanner

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To evaluate a third‐order motion‐compensated spin echo (M3‐MCSE) sequence at multiple cardiac phases on a clinical 3 T MRI scanner with ultra‐high performance (UHP) gradients (200 mT/m), compared with stimulated echo acquisition mode (STEAM) and second‐order MCSE (M2‐MCSE) for cardiac diffusion tensor imaging (cDTI).

Patterned probes for high precision 4D-STEM bragg measurements. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Nanoscale strain mapping by four-dimensional scanning transmission electron microscopy (4D-STEM) relies on determining the precise locations of Bragg-scattered electrons in a sequence of diffraction patterns, a task which is complicated by dynamical ...

A longitudinal study of radiodensity and radiographic appearance of the proximal sesamoid bones in Thoroughbred racehorses

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background There are limited data on long‐term follow‐up of radiographic changes of the proximal sesamoid bones (PSBs) in Thoroughbred racehorses. The effect of training and racing on radiodensity of the PSBs in live Thoroughbreds has not been described.

CT Coronary Angiography with 100kV tube voltage and a low noise reconstruction filter in non-obese patients: evaluation of radiation dose and diagnostic quality of 2D and 3D image reconstructions using open source software (OsiriX) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE. Computed tomography coronary angiography (CTCA) has seen a dramatic evolution in the last decade owing to the availability of multislice CT scanners with 64 detector rows and beyond.

Empirical Evaluation of Four Tensor Decomposition Algorithms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Higher-order tensor decompositions are analogous to the familiar Singular Value Decomposition (SVD), but they transcend the limitations of matrices (second-order tensors).

Performance of the Direct Current Electric Potential Difference (DCEPD) Method for Crack Extension Measurement in Fracture Mechanics Specimens Exhibiting Split Delaminations

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This work investigates the performance of the direct current electric potential difference (DCEPD) method for measuring crack extension (∆a$$ \Delta a $$) during fracture toughness tests of ductile steels exhibiting delaminations perpendicular to the main crack plane, known as splits.
