Soft Adaptive Mechanical Metamaterials

open access: yesFrontiers in Robotics and AI, 2021
Soft materials are inherently flexible and make suitable candidates for soft robots intended for specific tasks that would otherwise not be achievable (e.g., smart grips capable of picking up objects without prior knowledge of their stiffness). Moreover,

Interaction Between Vortex‐Induced Vibrations and Base Vibrations in Piezoelectric Harvesters

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the present era, powering sensors using green energy is a significant challenge. One promising solution for the power supply of small sensors relies on piezoelectric energy harvesters excited by vortex‐induced vibrations (VIVs) generated by wind.

Farmers' land‐use decision‐making: A dynamical modelling approach that integrates qualitative knowledge about social norms into a quantitative model

open access: yesPeople and Nature, 2023
The concept of the homo oeconomicus is often used to model human behaviour in economic contexts. However, other factors like tradition or the preference to comply with social norms can play a role in decision‐making processes.

Exploring the Use and Impact of Composite Materials in Robotics: A Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Lightweight and high‐strength materials are important in robotics, as structural design impacts efficiency, payload capacity, and energy consumption. Composite materials, with their superior stiffness‐to‐weight ratios and multifunctional properties, offer clear advantages over conventional metals and polymers.

Modelling and Simulation of Spontaneous Perception Switching with Ambiguous Visual Stimuli in Augmented Vision Systems

open access: yes, 2006
A behavioral nonlinear dynamics model of multistable perception due to ambiguous visual stimuli is presented. The perception state is formalized as the phase variable (order parameter) of a recursive cosinuidal map with the two control parameters μ ...

Tunable optical multistability induced by a single cavity mode in cavity quantum electrodynamics system

open access: yes, 2023
We demonstrate a tunable optical multistability scheme based on a single cavity mode coupling with multi-level atoms in cavity quantum electrodynamics system.

Bioinspired Morphology‐Decoupled Soft Gripper with Enhanced Bidirectional Grasping Capability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 34, 19 June 2026.
Inspired by biological predation, a novel gripper decouples cross‐modal grasping via dual morphological configurations. Synergistically integrating hybrid rigid and soft coupled fingers with a metamaterial palm, the system performs active compliant grasping for static objects and passive cage capture for dynamic targets.

Phase space monitoring of exciton-polariton multistability

open access: yes, 2014
International audienceDynamics of exciton-polariton multistability is theoretically investigated. Phase portraits are used as a tool to enlighten the microscopic phenomena which influence spin multistability of a confined polariton field as well as ...

Energy‐Based Phase‐Locking State Analysis in Brain State Identification

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 8, June 1, 2026.
EPLSA constructs an energy landscape from BOLD phase synchrony, achieving superior brain state classification and providing novel stability metrics. It demonstrates strong clinical translatability in characterizing sleep–wake transitions and Alzheimer's disease.

THEORETICAL STUDY OF CONTROLLING MULTISTABILITY BY PARAMETRIC AND STOCHASTIC MODULATION IN THE HÉNON MAP AND A FIBER LASER [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
"In this thesis, I study theoretically the applicability of the method for controlling multistability by parametrical and stochastic modulation. The method for controlling multistability was suggested by Pisarchik and Goswami in 2000.
