The results of mathematical modeling processes in the turboshaft gas turbine engine (GTE) are presented. The using calculation method based on a high-level GTE mathematical model, which is founded on a multi-stage axial compressor blade-to-blade ...

Modeling Tip Clearance Effects in Multistage Axial Compressors [PDF]
A variety of techniques for simulating the effects of rotor tip clearances in multistage axial compressors is discussed. Proper recognition of stage coupling and rematching effects is shown to be key to successful modeling of the overall behavior of actual engine compression systems.

Users manual for updated computer code for axial-flow compressor conceptual design [PDF]
An existing computer code that determines the flow path for an axial-flow compressor either for a given number of stages or for a given overall pressure ratio was modified for use in air-breathing engine conceptual design studies.

Preliminary compressor design study for an advanced multistage axial flow compressor [PDF]
An optimum, axial flow, high pressure ratio compressor for a turbofan engine was defined for commercial subsonic transport service starting in the late 1980's.

Analysis of fully stalled compressor [PDF]
An analysis yields a model for energy transfer in compressor stages operating in the closed-throttle condition. The derivation indicates that three geometry parameters (hub/tip ration, aspect ration, and rotor blade setting angle) influence the values of

Computations of unsteady multistage compressor flows in a workstation environment [PDF]
High-end graphics workstations are becoming a necessary tool in the computational fluid dynamics environment. In addition to their graphic capabilities, workstations of the latest generation have powerful floating-point-operation capabilities.

Temporally and spatially resolved flow in a two-stage axial compressor. Part 2: Computational assessment [PDF]
Fluid dynamics of turbomachines are complicated due to aerodynamic interactions between rotors and stators. It is necessary to understand the aerodynamics associated with these interactions in order to design turbomachines that are both light and compact

Piston ring assembly for a new natural gas vehicle symmetrical multistage wobble-plate compressor [PDF]
Natural gas is an alternative fuel of choice in the market today due to the increase in the price of petroleum, as well as out of environmental concerns. Pressure requirement for a natural gas vehicle (NGV) storage tank is 3000 psig (206 bars).
