Improved Target Localization in Multiwaveform Multiband Hybrid Multistatic Radar Networks

open access: yesIEEE Sensors Journal, 2022
This study proposes an algorithm to improve the target localization performance. This is implemented in a multiwaveform multiband hybrid (passive and active) multistatic radar network scenario that utilizes broadcasting signals for radar sensing in ...

Range‐Free Localisation for Monostatic Passive Radar Employing Multi‐Narrowband Illuminators

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
Range‐free localisation is considered for monostatic passive radar with multiple narrowband illuminators under unreliable time‐delay (range) measurements. Doppler/DOA (and optional Doppler‐rate) are fused in an ML framework, where velocity is iteratively updated to reduce the original 6‐D optimisation to a 3‐D position search.

Investigating SAR algorithm for spaceborne interferometric oil spill detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The environmental damages and recovery of terrestrial ecosystems from oil spills can last decades. Oil spills have been responsible for loss of aquamarine lives, organisms, trees, vegetation, birds and wildlife. Although there are several methods through

Animal lameness detection with radar sensing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Lameness is a significant problem for performance horses and farmed animals, with severe impact on animal welfare and treatment costs. Lameness is commonly diagnosed through subjective scoring methods performed by trained veterinary clinicians, but ...

Fourier-based Radar Processing for Multistatic Millimetre-wave Imaging with Sparse Apertures

open access: yesEuropean Conference on Antennas and Propagation, 2022
Fourier-based radar processing algorithms have attracted a lot of interest among imaging techniques mostly because they are extremely fast. Moreover, such techniques can be integrated with a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) effective aperture to ...

Characterisation and Classification of Resident Space Objects Using Radar Networks

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper describes a simulated environment for generating Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) images and interferometric point clouds using a three‐receiver radar configuration, along with the creation of extensive datasets to train and evaluate deep learning models under varying Signal‐to‐Noise Ratio (SNR) conditions. Findings show that modified

Time Reversal Detection in Multistatic Radar System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
A multistatic radar system can effectively improve the detection performance owing to its spatial diversity property. However, the detection performance will degrade when there exist multipaths.
