Tolerance Analysis and Robustness of Phase Conjugating Cross‐Eye Jamming

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This study explores phase‐conjugating (PC) arrays as a robust alternative to Van Atta (VA) arrays for cross‐eye jamming, a radar countermeasure in electronic warfare, developing an analytical framework validated by simulations. It demonstrates PC arrays' superior tolerance to phase errors and lower minimum JSR requirement against skin return.

Improved Delay-and-Sum Beamforming Algorithm for Breast Cancer Detection

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2008
We have evaluated a modified delay-and-sum (DAS) beamforming algorithm for breast cancer detection with a microwave radar-based system. The improved DAS algorithm uses an additional weight factor calculated at each focal point to improve image quality ...

Cooperative Radar and Communications Signaling: The Estimation and Information Theory Odd Couple [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate cooperative radar and communications signaling. While each system typically considers the other system a source of interference, by considering the radar and communications operations to be a single joint system, the performance of both ...

DETECTION OF MULTIPLE TARGETS BY A MULTISTATIC RADAR

open access: yesPerner’s Contacts, 2009
Multistatic radar systems with several transmitters and receivers introduce not only new qualities in area surveillance as well as in hardware minimization but also new problems in signal processing and target detection and tracking.

A multistatic circular synthethic aperture radar for small object detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper introduces a ground-based Multistatic Circular Synthetic Aperture Radar (MuCSAR) used to detect small objects on the ground. The received signals have been modelled and the system prototype has been developed. The proposed signal processing is

Phaseless Radar Coincidence Imaging with a MIMO SAR Platform

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
The correlation-based synthetic aperture radar imaging technique, termed radar coincidence imaging, is extended to a fully multistatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) configuration.

Gait Classification Based on Micro-Doppler Features [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper focuses on the classification of human gaits based on micro-Doppler signatures. The micro-Doppler signatures can represent detailed information about the human gaits, which helps in judging the threat of a personnel target. The proposed method

DA-PMHT for Multistatic Passive Radar Multitarget Tracking in Dense Clutter Environment

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Multistatic passive radar exploits illuminators of opportunity such as radio or television stations for tracking airborne targets. This paper focuses on broadcast signals in a single frequency network modulated according to the digital audio/video ...
