Limiting Distributions for Multitype Branching Processes. [PDF]

open access: yesStoch Anal Appl, 2010
In this paper the asymptotic behavior of multitype Markov branching processes with discrete or continuous time is investigated in the positive regular and nonsingular case when both the initial number of ancestors and the time tend to infinity. Some limiting distributions are obtained as well as multivariate asymptotic normality is proved.

MULTITYPE BRANCHING PROCESSES WITH INHOMOGENEOUS POISSON IMMIGRATION. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Appl Probab, 2018
Abstract In this paper we introduce multitype branching processes with inhomogeneous Poisson immigration, and consider in detail the critical Markov case when the local intensity r(t) of the Poisson random measure is a regularly varying function. Various multitype limit distributions (conditional and unconditional) are obtained depending on the rate at

On aggregation of multitype Galton–Watson branching processes with immigration [PDF]

open access: yesModern Stochastics: Theory and Applications, 2018
Limit behaviour of temporal and contemporaneous aggregations of independent copies of a stationary multitype Galton–Watson branching process with immigration is studied in the so-called iterated and simultaneous cases, respectively.

On multitype branching processes with interaction

open access: yesStochastics
Motivated by the stochastic Lotka-Volterra model, we introduce discrete-state interacting multitype branching processes. We show that they can be obtained as the sum of a multidimensional random walk with a Lamperti-type change proportional to the population size; and a multidimensional Poisson process with a time-change proportional to the pairwise ...

Inequalities for Multitype Branching Processes

open access: yesAnnals of Probability, 1973
Some results of the paper "Inequalities for Branching Processes" [Ann. Prob. 1 (1973)] by the same author are extended to a multitype branching process. Bounds are obtained on the probability of extinction and mean time to extinction of the process when the probability transition laws are allowed to vary from period to period and are required only to ...

Demographic Dynamics in Multitype Populations with Migrations

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
This research work deals with mathematical modeling in complex biological systems in which several types of individuals coexist in various populations. Migratory phenomena among the populations are allowed.

Generating Functions of Stochastic L-Systems and Application to Models of Plant Development [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2008
If the interest of stochastic L-systems for plant growth simulation and visualization is broadly acknowledged, their full mathematical potential has not been taken advantage of.

Identification of multitype branching processes [PDF]

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 2000
We solve the problem of constructing an asymptotic global confidence region for the means and the covariance matrices of the reproduction distributions involved in a supercritical multitype branching process. Our approach is based on a central limit theorem associated with a quadratic law of large numbers performed by the maximum likelihood or the ...

The formal demography of kinship VI: Demographic stochasticity and variance in the kinship network [PDF]

open access: yesDemographic Research
BACKGROUND: Although the matrix model for kinship networks includes many demographic processes, it is deterministic. It provides values of age-stage distributions of kin, but no information on (co)variances. Because kin populations are small, demographic
