An iterative receiver structure is proposed for decoding multiuser information data in a convolutionally coded DS-CDMA system. The receiver performs two successive soft-output decisions, achieved by a soft-input soft-output (SISO) multiuser detector and a bank of single-user SISO channel decoders, through an iterative process.

Distributed multiuser detection
Conference Record of the Thirty-Third Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers (Cat. No.CH37020), 2003Multiuser detection is extended to distributed scenarios. Each cooperating receiver makes preliminary decisions on the received bits of multiple users based on its own observations. Then the preliminary decisions are combined at the fusion center to produce the final decision.

Local search multiuser detection
AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2009Abstract In this work, a wide analysis of local search multiuser detection (LS-M U D) for direct sequence/code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) systems under multipath channels is carried out considering the performance-complexity trade-off.

An important thrust in research in multiuser detection is the design of adaptive detectors, which self-tune the detector parameters from the observation of the received waveform. The literature on this subject is surveyed in this tutorial paper.

Precoded opportunistic multiuser detection
2012 IEEE International Conference on Communication Systems (ICCS), 2012In this paper, we study multi-user multi-input-multi-output (MU-MIMO) wireless system for spectrum sharing over a limited bandwidth, in which transmit covariance matrices of the coexisting users independently updated in an iterative manner for individual rate maximization.

Space-time multiuser detection
Conference Record of Thirty-Second Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. No.98CH36284), 2002The problem of multiuser detection in multipath CDMA channels with a receiver antenna array is considered. The optimal space-time multiuser receiver structure is first outlined, followed by linear space-time multiuser detection methods based on iterative interference cancellation.

Adaptive Bayesian multiuser detection
2000 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (Cat. No.00CH37060), 2002We consider the problem of simultaneous parameter estimation and data restoration in a synchronous CDMA system. Bayesian inference of all unknown quantities is made from the superimposed and noisy received signals. The Gibbs sampler, a Markov Chain Monte Carlo procedure, is employed to calculate the Bayesian estimates.
