Capacity Balancing for Multiuser MIMO Systems
2007 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing - ICASSP '07, 2007This paper investigates the problem of transceiver design with individual rate constraints for multiuser MIMO systems. We focus on linear processing with two design goals: one is to maximize the minimum rate per user under a total power constraint, and the other is to minimize the total transmit power while maintaining certain rate requirements.

Energy-efficient multiuser MIMO beamforming
2011 45th Annual Conference on Information Sciences and Systems, 2011In previous works, MIMO beamforming in multiuser wireless systems is typically formulated in two ways: one is minimizing the total transmit power with individual signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) constraints for each user; and the other one is maximizing the minimum SINR among all the users with a total transmission power constraint ...

Antenna partitioning for multiuser MIMO-CDMA
GLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005Improving downlink CDMA capacity has been an area of intensive research for the past decade, especially as the downlink has become the capacity limiting link. Multi-antenna technologies are an obvious candidate for increasing the downlink capacity, but successfully decoding spatially multiplexed signals is very challenging in an interference-limited ...

Efficient multiuser MIMO scheduling strategies
IEEE 60th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2004. VTC2004-Fall. 2004, 2005For multiuser MIMO (MU-MIMO) services, orthogonal multiple accesses, e.g., FDMA and TDMA are popular options to avoid multiuser interference. A high sum-rate is achievable in an MU-MIMO system where a common frequency or time resource is shared by multiple users if transmitters assume perfect knowledge of the corresponding channels.

Downlink Multiuser MIMO-OFDM Systems
2012Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) techniques for wireless communication systems have attracted in the last years huge research activity due to the possibility of improving the link performance by increasing the channel capacity and decreasing the bit-error rate (BER).

Large-scale multiuser SM-MIMO versus massive MIMO
2014 Information Theory and Applications Workshop (ITA), 2014Spatial modulation (SM) is attractive for multi-antenna wireless communications. SM uses multiple transmit antenna elements but only one transmit radio frequency (RF) chain. In SM, in addition to the information bits conveyed through conventional modulation symbols (e.g., QAM), the index of the active transmit antenna also conveys information bits.

A novel differential multiuser detection algorithm for multiuser MIMO-OFDM systems
Journal of Zhejiang University SCIENCE C, 2010We propose an efficient low bit error rate (BER) and low complexity multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multiuser detection (MUD) method for use with multiuser MIMO orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. It is a hybrid method combining a multiuser-interference-cancellation-based decision feedback equalizer using error feedback ...

Suboptimal Multiuser MIMO Techniques
2011The previous chapter described the capacity regions of multiuser MIMO channels and techniques for achieving capacity. Due to the complexity of these optimal techniques, we are motivated to consider suboptimal multiuser MIMO techniques with lower complexity.
