Asymptotics of empirical copula processes under non-restrictive smoothness assumptions

open access: yes, 2012
Weak convergence of the empirical copula process is shown to hold under the assumption that the first-order partial derivatives of the copula exist and are continuous on certain subsets of the unit hypercube.

Ecologically‐Valid Emotion Signatures Enhance Mood Disorder Diagnostics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies ecologically‐valid Divergent Emotional Functional Networks (DEFN), derived from dynamic functional connectivity during naturalistic movie watching. The DEFN reliably enhances diagnostic accuracy for mood disorders, including major depressive and bipolar disorders, demonstrating strong reproducibility across demographic factors and

HIV deathrate prediction by Gaidai multivariate risks assessment method

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease
Objectives HIV is a contagious disease with reportedly high transmissibility, being spread worldwide, with certain mortality, allegedly presenting a burden to public health worldwide.

Bayesian model averaging over tree-based dependence structures for multivariate extremes

open access: yes, 2018
Describing the complex dependence structure of extreme phenomena is particularly challenging. To tackle this issue we develop a novel statistical algorithm that describes extremal dependence taking advantage of the inherent hierarchical dependence ...

Intermediate Tail Dependence: A Review and Some New Results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The concept of intermediate tail dependence is useful if one wants to quantify the degree of positive dependence in the tails when there is no strong evidence of presence of the usual tail dependence. We first review existing studies on intermediate tail

Mitochondrial Calcium Uniporter Drives Chemoresistance in Pancreatic Cancer via Glutathione‐Mediated Stemness Maintenance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PDAC has a poor prognosis due to chemoresistance. We revealed that MCU upregulation is associated with chemoresistance and stemness in PDAC. MCU‐mediated Ca2+ influx induced ER stress, activating the PERK‐ATF4/NRF2 axis to enhance PSAT1/SLC711 expression and glutathione synthesis, reducing ROS and maintaining stemness.

Unveiling Global Diversity of Patescibacteriota and Functional Interactions with Host Microbes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Patescibacteriota represents a diverse group of ultra‐small epibiotic bacteria, which is largely overlooked. By integrating ribosomal protein S3‐based community profiling with MAG‐based metabolic potential analyses, this study provides new insights into their distribution, diversity, and potential interactions with other bacteria across diverse ...

Semi-parametric estimation of joint large movements of risky assets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The classical approach to modelling the occurrence of joint large movements of asset returns is to assume multivariate normality for the distribution of asset returns. This implies independence between large returns. However, it is now recognised by both

Rank-based inference for bivariate extreme-value copulas

open access: yes, 2008
Consider a continuous random pair $(X,Y)$ whose dependence is characterized by an extreme-value copula with Pickands dependence function $A$. When the marginal distributions of $X$ and $Y$ are known, several consistent estimators of $A$ are available ...

OCIAD2 Stabilizes Integrin β1 Signaling Through SNX17‐Mediated Endosomal Recycling to Lipid Rafts and Modulates Cisplatin Response in HNSCC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies OCIAD2 as a critical regulator of cisplatin resistance in HNSCC. Mechanistically, OCIAD2 stabilizes integrin β1 through a direct physical interaction and facilitates its SNX17‐dependent endosomal recycling to lipid raft microdomains. Targeting OCIAD2 disrupts integrin β1 trafficking and significantly enhances cisplatin sensitivity,
