Oestrogen receptor phosphorylation profiles and in silico PAM50 subtyping reflect sexual dimorphism in breast cancer

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Abstract Breast cancer (BC) is most prevalent in females but also accounts for <1% of male cancer cases and 0.2% of male cancer‐related deaths. Distribution of histological subtypes, receptor status, and age of diagnosis varies based on sex, and a growing body of evidence supports sex‐specific molecular differences in BC.

Electricity Price Prediction Using Multikernel Gaussian Process Regression Combined With Kernel‐Based Support Vector Regression

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, Volume 45, Issue 4, Page 2059-2077, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a new hybrid model for predicting German electricity prices. The algorithm is based on a combination of Gaussian process regression (GPR) and support vector regression (SVR). Although GPR is a competent model for learning stochastic patterns within data and for interpolation, its performance for out‐of‐sample data is not ...

Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 35, 24 June 2026.
Cancer immunotherapy faces challenges in predicting treatment responses and understanding resistance mechanisms. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) offer powerful solutions for cancer immunotherapy in patient stratification, biomarker discovery, treatment strategy optimization, and foundation model development.

The Multiscale Non‐Gaussian Statistics of Free‐Running 1000‐Member General Circulation Model Ensembles

open access: yesAtmospheric Science Letters, Volume 27, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study investigates the multiscale evolution of forecast distributions using 1000‐member global circulation model ensembles. Initially different distributions converge to the same time‐varying equilibrium distribution, and the equilibration time scale noticeably exceeds the variance saturation time. Prior to equilibration, the forecast distribution

A Cross‐Disease Microglial Transcriptional Program Characterizes Neurodegeneration and Highlights SPP1 as a Biomarker

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 6, June 2026.
Distinct microglial subpopulations are depicted, highlighting variations in gene expression and functional roles in response to specific disease conditions and the complexity of microglial activation and differentiation in neurodegeneration. ABSTRACT Microglial cells are key players in maintaining brain homeostasis and responding to pathological ...

Improved Multiscale Structural Mapping with Supervertex Vision Transformer for the Detection of Alzheimer's Disease Neurodegeneration

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 8, June 1, 2026.
We propose MSSM+, an extension of multiscale structural mapping (MSSM), together with surface supervertex mapping (SSVM) and a Supervertex Vision Transformer (SV‐ViT). Together, these methods exhibited better performance in detecting Alzheimer's disease and less variability across MR vendors than MSSM.

Challenges and Opportunities in Machine Learning for Light‐Emitting Polymers

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 47, Issue 12, 22 June 2026.
The performance of light‐emitting polymers emerges from coupled effects of chemical diversity, morphology, and exciton dynamics across multiple length scales. This Perspective reviews recent design strategies and experimental challenges, and discusses how machine learning can unify descriptors, data, and modeling approaches to efficiently navigate ...

The Impact of Substance Abuse Problems and Serious Mental Illness/Serious Emotional Distress on Post‐Discharge Residential Status Among Clients With Behavioral and Cognitive Disorders: Evidence From SAMHSA MH‐CLD Data

open access: yesPublic Health Challenges, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
SAP was linked to 40% increased odds of non‐private discharge (aOR = 1.40, 95% CI: 1.18–165), and SMISED had about two‐fold increased odds (aOR = 2.10, 95% CI: 1.44–3.05) compared to discharge in private residence. For individuals with SAP, unemployed Hispanic/Latino clients showed the highest odds of non‐private discharge compared to employed clients (

Amplification of Flood Hazard and Damage by Compounding Pluvial and Fluvial Flooding

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Flood risk management has traditionally treated fluvial and pluvial flooding in isolation, for example, by producing inundation maps separately for each flood type. Here, we develop an integrated modeling framework capable of capturing the interplay of both flood types when they co‐occur.

Fourier Neural Pseudo‐Log Generator for Well Log Reconstruction and Beyond‐Record Generation

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract Geophysical well logging is crucial for subsurface exploration, but its application is often hindered by incomplete data and high operational costs. To address these challenges, we propose the Fourier neural pseudo‐log generator (FNPG), a novel generative model capable of both missing well log reconstruction and generation of new, beyond ...
