Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Prior choice and data requirements of Bayesian multivariate hierarchical models fit to tag‐recovery data: The need for power analyses

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2023
Recent empirical studies have quantified correlation between survival and recovery by estimating these parameters as correlated random effects with hierarchical Bayesian multivariate models fit to tag‐recovery data.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Moments of Student’s t-distribution: a unified approach

open access: yesModern Stochastics: Theory and Applications
In this paper, new closed form formulae for moments of the (generalized) Student’s t-distribution are derived in the one dimensional case as well as in higher dimensions through a unified probability framework.

New general location models for mixed responses [PDF]

open access: yesAUT Journal of Mathematics and Computing
In this paper, we introduce new general location model for mixed responses including correlated nominal, ordinal and continuous outcomes by using latent variable approach.

Multivariate Scale-Mixed Stable Distributions and Related Limit Theorems

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
In the paper, multivariate probability distributions are considered that are representable as scale mixtures of multivariate stable distributions. Multivariate analogs of the Mittag–Leffler distribution are introduced.

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Large-Sample Asymptotic Approximations for the Sampling and Posterior Distributions of Differential Entropy for Multivariate Normal Distributions

open access: yesEntropy, 2011
In the present paper, we propose a large sample asymptotic approximation for the sampling and posterior distributions of differential entropy when the sample is composed of independent and identically distributed realization of a multivariate normal ...

Emerging insights into CC and CXC chemokines and their receptors in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dual roles of CC and CXC chemokines in distinguishing active, latent, and subclinical tuberculosis were reviewed, along with an evaluation of their potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets to advance precision medicine in tuberculosis management. The graphical abstract was generated with AI assistance (Gemini 3.0).

Asymmetric multivariate normal mixture GARCH [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
An asymmetric multivariate generalization of the recently proposed class of normal mixture GARCH models is developed. Issues of parametrization and estimation are discussed.
