Wind Turbine Systematic Yaw Error: Operation Data Analysis Techniques for Detecting It and Assessing Its Performance Impact

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The widespread availability of wind turbine operation data has considerably boosted the research and the applications for wind turbine monitoring. It is well established that a systematic misalignment of the wind turbine nacelle with respect to the wind ...

Confidence bands for multivariate and time dependent inverse regression models

open access: yes, 2015
Uniform asymptotic confidence bands for a multivariate regression function in an inverse regression model with a convolution-type operator are constructed. The results are derived using strong approximation methods and a limit theorem for the supremum of

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

AN ADAPTIVE METHOD FOR BUILDING A MULTIVARIATE REGRESSION

open access: yesВісник Національного технічного університету "ХПÌ": Системний аналіз, управління та інформаційні технології
We propose an adaptive method for building a multivariate regression given by a weighted linear convolution of known scalar functions of deterministic input variables with unknown coefficients.

A Data-Driven Analysis on the Impact of High-Speed Rails on Land Prices in Taiwan

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
High-speed rail (HSR) networks boost inter-city accessibility across a country and stimulate economic growth in inner cities. These economic gains, however, can often be accompanied by sharp increases in land and property prices along the lines that ...

Adaptive Multivariate Ridge Regression

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1980
A multivariate version of the Hoerl-Kennard ridge regression rule is introduced. The choice from among a large class of possible generalizations is guided by Bayesian considerations; the result is implicitly in the work of Lindley and Smith although not actually derived there.

Identifying gene expression signatures for risk stratification of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in colorectal cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...

Bayesian nonparametric multivariate convex regression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In many applications, such as economics, operations research and reinforcement learning, one often needs to estimate a multivariate regression function f subject to a convexity constraint.

Statistical Inference using the Morse-Smale Complex

open access: yes, 2017
The Morse-Smale complex of a function $f$ decomposes the sample space into cells where $f$ is increasing or decreasing. When applied to nonparametric density estimation and regression, it provides a way to represent, visualize, and compare multivariate ...

Hospital Readmission After Traumatic Brain Injury Hospitalization in Community‐Dwelling Older Adults

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the risk of hospital readmission after an index hospitalization for TBI in older adults. Methods Using data from the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study, we used propensity score matching of individuals with an index TBI‐related hospitalization to individuals with (1) non‐TBI hospitalizations (primary analysis)
