Hippocampal Seizure‐Related Burden is Associated with Accelerated Long‐Term Forgetting in Focal Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Memory impairment is a frequent comorbidity of focal epilepsy, incompletely explained by seizure frequency or structural pathology. Ictal and postictal hippocampal dysfunction disrupt memory processes, but their cumulative impact remains poorly quantified.

Formation of Highly Selective Binding Pockets in UiO‐Type MOFs From Bridged Linkers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Much room for design: We present a generalizable strategy for precisely modifying UiO‐type Metal‐organic frameworks with functional groups in a site‐specific manner. Through the use of pre‐connected linkers, pocket‐like pores for molecular recognition are generated.

Advancing Environmental Sustainability: The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Monitoring, Predicting, and Controlling Sulfur Dioxide Emissions

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Air pollution from sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions poses significant threats to environmental sustainability, public health, and climate change efforts. Despite advances in monitoring and regulatory frameworks, traditional methods often fall short in accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.

New techniques for old bones: Morphometric and diffeomorphometric analysis of the bony labyrinth of the Reilingen and Ehringsdorf Neandertals

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Neandertals are known to possess very distinctive traits in their bony labyrinth morphology, such as an inferiorly positioned posterior canal and a very low number of turns in the cochlea. Hence, the inner ear has been often used to assess the Neandertal status of fragmentary fossils.
