Terror Management Theory in the Consumer Domain: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis on Mortality Salience Driven Consumer Responses

open access: yesInternational Journal of Consumer Studies, Volume 49, Issue 3, May 2025.
ABSTRACT A systematic review and meta‐analysis were conducted to examine terror management theory (TMT) in the consumer behavior domain. TMT postulates that existential anxiety (i.e., mortality salience) drives people to invest in anxiety buffers, affecting many different behaviors, including consumer responses.

Do We Live in the Best of All Possible Worlds? The Fine-Tuning of the Constants of Nature

open access: yesUniverse, 2017
Our existence depends on a variety of constants which appear to be extremely fine-tuned to allow for the existence of life as we know it. These include the number of spatial dimensions, the strengths of the forces, the masses of the particles, the ...

The multiverse hierarchy

open access: yes, 2007
I survey physics theories involving parallel universes, arguing that they form a natural four-level hierarchy of multiverses allowing progressively greater diversity. Level I: A generic prediction of inflation is an infinite ergodic universe, which contains Hubble volumes realizing all initial conditions -- including an identical copy of you about 10 ...

Multiverses of the past

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, 2009
AbstractMore than 2000 years ago, Epicurus taught that there are an infinite number of other worlds, both like and unlike ours, and Aristotle taught that there are none. Neither hypothesis can currently be falsified, and some versions of current multiverses perhaps never can be, which has contributed to occasional claims that “this isn't science!” (a ...

Predicting Porosity in Grain Compression Experiments Using Random Forest and Metaheuristic Optimization Algorithms

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 4, April 2025.
To investigate the distribution pattern of bulk grain pile porosity in bungalow warehouses, this study employs machine learning techniques to predict grain pile porosity based on compression experiments. Five models were developed in this study, with the TSA‐RF model showing the best predictive performance.

A natural model of the multiverse axioms [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
If ZFC is consistent, then the collection of countable computably saturated models of ZFC satisfies all of the Multiverse Axioms introduced by Hamkins.

Manipulation of Intensive Longitudinal Data: A Tutorial in R With Applications on the Job Demand‐Control Model

open access: yesInternational Journal of Psychology, Volume 60, Issue 2, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Intensive longitudinal designs (ILD) are increasingly used in applied psychology to investigate research questions and deliver interventions at both within‐ and between‐individual levels. However, while relatively complex analyses such as cross‐level interaction models are trending in the field, little guidance has been provided on ILD data ...

The Level I Multiverse is not the same as the Level III Multiverse [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Anthony Aguirre and Max Tegmark have famously speculated that the Level I Multiverse is the same as the Level III Multiverse. By this, they mean that the parallel universes of the Level III Multiverse can be regarded as similar or identical copies of our own Hubble volume distributed throughout the whole of our (possibly infinite) bubble universe ...

Magnifying Black/African American Representation to Expand Cultural Sensitivity in Counselor Educator Preparation Programs

open access: yesJournal of Multicultural Counseling and Development, Volume 53, Issue 2, Page 55-65, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Using an intersectionality lens, the purpose of this article is to provide representation as an arisen theme in a grounded theory study of the process of professional identity development of Black doctoral students in counselor education. There is a nascent body of literature detailing diversity and, specifically, racial representation related
