Stability and bifurcations in an epidemic model with varying immunity period [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
An epidemic model with distributed time delay is derived to describe the dynamics of infectious diseases with varying immunity. It is shown that solutions are always positive, and the model has at most two steady states: disease-free and endemic.

Knowledge and Adherence to Lifestyle Habits to Prevent Complications Associated With Immunosuppression in Kidney Transplant Recipients: A Single‐Center Survey

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, EarlyView.
We performed a survey on lifestyle habits aimed at reducing the risks associated with immunosuppression in kidney transplant recipients. We found gaps in dental hygiene, sunscreen use, vaccination, and consumption of high‐risk foods. Cultural and economic factors influenced adherence.

A unifying class of compound Poisson integer‐valued ARMA and GARCH models

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Statistics, Volume 52, Issue 3, Page 1176-1205, September 2025.
Abstract INAR (integer‐valued autoregressive) and INGARCH (integer‐valued GARCH) models are among the most commonly employed approaches for count time series modeling, but have been studied in largely distinct strands of literature. In this paper, a new class of generalized integer‐valued ARMA (GINARMA) models is introduced which unifies a large number

Characterization of Neuropsychiatric Conditions in United States Resettled Refugees at a Single Academic Center

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 98, Issue 2, Page 231-235, August 2025.
Neuropsychiatric diseases are common among forcibly displaced persons, and a better understanding is needed to improve screening and treatment efforts. We performed a retrospective cross‐sectional study at a single academic center looking at neuropsychiatric diagnoses of United States resettled refugees presenting for their domestic medical examination.

Longitudinal Evaluation of Listening Effort and Speech Perception in Noise in CROS and BiCROS Hearing Aid Users With Single‐Sided Deafness

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 10, Issue 4, August 2025.
As a result of this study, it was seen that using CROS and BiCROS hearing aids increased speech understanding performance in noise and reduced listening effort after starting to use them. Furthermore, as the use of the device continued, it was observed that speech performance in noise increased and listening efforts decreased over time.
