Stability and bifurcations in an epidemic model with varying immunity period [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
An epidemic model with distributed time delay is derived to describe the dynamics of infectious diseases with varying immunity. It is shown that solutions are always positive, and the model has at most two steady states: disease-free and endemic.

Exploring the Role of Pattern Recognition Receptors as Immunostimulatory Molecules

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2025.
This mini‐review summarizes different classes of pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) and the role of their agonizts that have been identified and also outlines the role of PRR ligands as immunostimulatory molecules. Designing and Cloning of the Gene Vaccine Carrying the Viral Haemorrhagic Septicaemia Multi‐Epitope Gene in the pNZ8121 Secretion Vector

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
Viral haemorrhagic septicaemia virus (VHSV) immunogenic epitopes were used to design a multi‐epitope vaccine with adjuvant. The vaccine's properties, structure and TLR‐4 interaction were analysed via computational methods. Optimized nucleotide sequences were created for Lactococcus lactis expression.

Childhood Vaccine Hesitancy as an Interaction‐Based Phenomenon

open access: yesSociology of Health &Illness, Volume 47, Issue 4, May 2025.
ABSTRACT The paper discusses the role of the interaction between parents and healthcare professionals in overcoming or heightening childhood vaccine hesitancy. Childhood vaccine hesitancy is seen as a set of attitudes and behaviours—that is, dispositions—that are highly dependent on how trust and vulnerability intersect during vaccination appointments.
