Meteorological Tsunamis: From Local Hazard to Global Relevance
Abstract Research on meteorological tsunamis or meteotsunamis—long ocean waves in the tsunami frequency band generated by propagating atmospheric disturbances which resonantly enhance ocean waves—has grown significantly in recent decades. This expansion is due to progress in (a) ocean and atmospheric measurements, including advanced instrumentation ...

What's Next for Snow: Insights From the NASA Terrestrial Hydrology Program Community Snow Meeting
Abstract Earth's snow cover strongly influences the climate system and represents an important resource for agricultural, industrial, and domestic water use. The last decade of snow‐focused research has improved our understanding of snow across scales. These efforts have culminated in new snow measurement instruments and methods, operational models for

Abstract Groundwater dating studies rely on environmental tracers to estimate residence times, but most available reliable tracers cover either short (days to decades; e.g., 222Rn, 3H/3He, 85Kr) or extended timescales (millennia to millions of years; e.g., 4He, 36Cl, 81Kr). This leaves a critical gap in age information for intermediate residence times (

Final results of μp capture rate ΛS and pseudoscalar coupling gP
We present the final results of muon capture on proton μ- + p → νμ + n, which were obtained by the MuCap Collaboration at the Paul Scherrer Institute. The singlet μp capture rate ΛS is determined as the difference between the lifetimes of μp and μ+.

Muon Capture and Muon Lifetime
We survey a new generation of precision muon lifetime experiments. The goal of the MuCap experiment is a determination of the rate for muon capture on the free proton to 1 percent, from which the induced pseudoscalar form factor $g_P$ of the nucleon can be derived with 7 percent precision. A measurement of the related $ $d capture process with similar

This work addresses the challenge of current–voltage asymmetry in scalable laminated semitransparent organic photovoltaics (OPVs) for indoor applications. Vertical stratification of materials is shown to create an energy barrier, leading to performance differences under different illumination directions.

Correlating the 0νββ-Decay Amplitudes of 136Xe with the Ordinary Muon Capture (OMC) Rates of 136Ba
The potential correlation between the ordinary muon capture (OMC) on 136Ba and 0νββ decay of 136Xe is explored. For this, we compute 0νββ-decay amplitudes for intermediate states in 136Cs below 1 MeV of excitation and for angular-momentum values J≤5 by ...

Evolution in time of radiation defects induced by negatively-charged pions and muons in crystals with diamond structures is considered. Negative pions and muons are captured by the nucleus and ionize an appropriate host atom, forming a positively-charged

Neutrino-Mass Sensitivity and Nuclear Matrix Element for Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay
Neutrinoless double beta decay (DBD) is a useful probe to study neutrino properties such as the Majorana nature, the absolute neutrino mass, the CP phase and the others, which are beyond the standard model.
