This study explores the application of cosmic ray muon tomography. It analyzes how cosmic ray detection can be used to obtain the shape and structure of absorber obstacle. We designed an experiment to obtain cosmic ray muon data with and without absorber.

The Muon Portal Project: Development of an innovative scanning portal based on muon tomography

The Muon Portal is a recent Project [1] which aims at the construction of a 18 m2 tracking detector for cosmic muons. This apparatus has been designed as a real-size prototype to inspect containers using the muon tomography technique, i.e. by measuring the deflection of muons when traversing high-Z materials.

Muon tomography of underground fracture zones

A high resolution muography survey has been performed in the Királylaki tunnel in Budapest (Hungary) to search for unknown cavities. Preliminary radiographic measurements suggested large density anomalies above the tunnels in a 20--60 m thick cherty dolomite rock (2.5--2.7 g/cm3).
