Non‐isocyanate polyhydroxyurethanes (PHUs) were synthesized from resorcinol bis(cyclocarbonate) and eco‐friendly diamines under mild, catalyst‐free conditions. The resulting polymers were extensively characterized for their structural, thermal, and mechanical properties, as well as processability and adhesion performance.

Muons in air showers at the Pierre Auger Observatory: Mean number in highly inclined events [PDF]
We present the first hybrid measurement of the average muon number in air showers at ultra-high energies, initiated by cosmic rays with zenith angles between $62^\circ$ and $80^\circ$. The measurement is based on 174 hybrid events recorded simultaneously

Electron-muon ranger: performance in the MICE muon beam [PDF]
The Muon Ionization Cooling Experiment (MICE) will perform a detailed study of ionization cooling to evaluate the feasibility of the technique. To carry out this program, MICE requires an efficient particle-identification (PID) system to identify muons.

A simple two‐stage extrusion aligns supramolecular fibrils into 1D gel noodles. The residual pressure in the viscous pre‐gel drives the formation of a thin filament that is locked by Ca2+ cross‐linker into a highly anisotropic segment. The aligned noodles show enhanced tensile strength and guide myoblast elongation along the fiber, mimicking aligned ...

We describe a compact apparatus that automatically measures the charge averaged lifetime of atmospheric muons in plastic scintillator using low-cost, low-power electronics and that measures the stopping rate of atmospheric muons as a function of altitude

Fusion holds great promise as a clean and abundant energy source. However, traditional thermonuclear fusion encounters significant challenges due to the extreme temperatures required to overcome the coulomb barrier for two nuclei to fuse. In contrast, muon-catalyzed fusion presents an alternative approach that can surmount this barrier at significantly

Neutron reflectometry is used to compare supported lipid bilayers formed by vesicle fusion and solvent‐assisted lipid bilayer (SALB) methods, revealing structurally comparable architectures with minor differences in acyl chain thickness and low residual solvent incorporation.

No role for neutrons, muons and solar neutrinos in the DAMA annual modulation results [PDF]
This paper summarizes in a simple and intuitive way why the neutrons, the muons and the solar neutrinos cannot give any significant contribution to the DAMA annual modulation results.

Muon Production in Relativistic Cosmic-Ray Interactions
Cosmic-rays with energies up to $3\times10^{20}$ eV have been observed. The nuclear composition of these cosmic rays is unknown but if the incident nuclei are protons then the corresponding center of mass energy is $\sqrt{s_{nn}} = 700$ TeV.
