Shoot and plantlet regeneration from meristems of Dioscorea rotundata Poir and Dioscorea alata L. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In vitro culture media capable of regenerating moderate to high shoots and/or plantlets from meristems of two yam species - Dioscorea rotundata and Dioscorea alata within comparable duration of 10 weeks as commonly obtained in other monocots and root and

A Modular and Customizable CRISPR/Cas Toolkit for Epigenome Editing of Cis‐regulatory Modules

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Epigenome editing surpasses genome editing in gene regulation. Modular epigenome editing frameworks are developed to interrogate cis‐regulome, enabling tunable reprogramming of cis‐elements, uncovering their epigenetic responsiveness and cross‐species portability.

Evaluation of the multiplication of three native potato (Solanum sp.) varieties for the conservation of native species

open access: yesJournal of the Selva Andina Biosphere, 2023
Unfortunately, in Bolivia native varieties are being displaced by commercial ones, causing the reduction or discarding of their production because they do not have a secure market, putting their conservation at risk.

Comprehensive Analysis of Rice Laccase Gene (OsLAC) Family and Ectopic Expression of OsLAC10 Enhances Tolerance to Copper Stress in Arabidopsis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2017
Laccases are encoded by a multigene family and widely distributed in plant genomes where they play roles oxidizing monolignols to produce higher-order lignin involved in plant development and stress responses. We identified 30 laccase genes (OsLACs) from

Polyadenylation Complex CFII Recognizes Downstream Cis‐element for Pre‐mRNA Polyadenylation Through Interaction with an RNA‐Binding Protein in Arabidopsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the cis‐element in pre‐mRNA recognized by the polyadenylation CFII complex. It elucidates how the CFII complex recognizes the consensus cis‐element downstream of the poly(A) site for pre‐mRNA alternative polyadenylation. This comprehensive research provides novel insights into the interaction between 3′ end processing complexes ...

RING‐Between‐RING‐Type E3 Ligase Ariadne‐Like Protein 8 Negatively Regulates Plant Virus Infection by Targeting a Viral Movement Protein

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The plant RING‐between‐RING (RBR)‐type E3 ligase, Ariadne‐like protein 8 (ARI8), ubiquitinates and degrades a viral movement protein, restricting virus spread. ARI8 also inhibits other triple gene block 1 (TGB1)‐containing viruses, revealing a broad‐spectrum antiviral role.
