Constraining Water Depth Influence on Organic Paleotemperature Proxies Using Sedimentary Archives
Abstract The TEX86 paleothermometer has been extensively used to reconstruct past sea water temperatures, but it remains unclear which export depths the proxy represents. Here we used a novel approach to better constrain the proxy recording depths by investigating paleotemperature proxies (TEX86, U37K′ ${\mathrm{U}}_{37}^{{\mathrm{K}}^{\prime }}$, RI ...

Abstract Concentration‐discharge (C‐Q) relationships of total suspended solids (TSS), total dissolved solids (TDS), particulate organic carbon (POC), and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) were investigated in the tributaries and main‐stems of two mountainous river systems with distinct watershed characteristics (Eel and Umpqua rivers) in Northern ...

This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of cemented stem THA with subtrochanteric femoral shortening and transverse derotational osteotomy in patients with Crowe IV DDH. The cemented femoral component showed promising mid‐term follow‐up results. Rather than leading to nonunion, cement leakage may negatively affect bone healing.

Abstract We use geochemical and petrographic data from anoxic sequences of the Nicobar Fan to document extensive marine silicate weathering (MSiW) in the input sediment of the Sumatra subduction zone and the conditions that result in authigenic minerals originating from this reaction: precipitation of authigenic carbonate—which sequesters carbon—and ...

Abstract Preservation of organic carbon (OC) in marine sediments exerts a major control on the cycling of carbon in the Earth system. In these marine environments, OC preservation may be enhanced by diagenetic reactions in locations where deposition of fragmental volcanic material called tephra occurs.

Abstract Bulk sediment δ15N records from the eastern tropical Pacific (ETP) extending back to the last ice age most often show low glacial δ15N, then a deglacial δ15N maximum, followed by a gradual decline to a late Holocene δ15N that is typically higher than that of the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM).

Bilateral Tibial Tubercle Sleeve Fractures in a Skeletally Immature Patient
Tibial tubercle sleeve fracture is a rare injury. In concept, it is similar to the patellar sleeve fracture in a skeletally immature patient. We describe a unique case of simultaneous bilateral tibial tubercle sleeve fractures in a 12‐year‐old boy. Radiographs and MRI confirmed the injury.

Diagnostic efficacy and importance of fine-needle aspiration cytology of thyroid nodules
Background: Fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules is an easy and cost-effective method. The increase in malignancy rates of the excised nodules due to the high sensitivity and specificity rates of the FNAC is ...
