Search For B-S(0) -> Mu(+)Mu(-) And B-0 -> Mu(+)Mu(-) Decays

open access: yes, 2012
A search for the rare decays B-S(0) -> mu(+)mu(-) and B-0 -> mu(+)mu(-) performed in pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV, with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5 fb(-1) collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. In both decays, the number of events observed after all selection requirements is consistent with the expectation

Are intravitreal hyperreflective particles alike in eyes with acute toxoplasma chorioretinitis and non-infectious uveitis?

open access: yesPhotodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy
Background: To compare distinctive features of hyperreflective particles observed on spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT) sections in eyes with acute toxoplasma chorioretinitis (TC) and non-infectious uveitis (NIU). Methods: Medical records

Engraftment of sheep splenic lymphocytes into NBSGW mice and application in Brucella infection

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
A sheep splenocyte‐reconstituted mouse model (Sh‐Spl mice) was established via intravenous injection of sheep splenic lymphocytes into immunodeficient mice to evaluate Brucella infection. Abstract Background The development of immune reconstituted xenograft mouse models has addressed the limitations imposed by interspecies immunological differences in ...

Search for Rare B-(s)(0) -> mu(+)mu(-)mu(+)mu(-) Decays

open access: yes, 2013
A search for the decays B-s(0) -> mu(+)mu(-)mu(+)mu(-) and B-0 -> mu(+)mu(-)mu(+)mu(-) is performed using data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector in 2011. The number of candidates observed is consistent with the expected background and, assuming phase-space models of the decays, limits on the ...

Comment interpréter une revue ? Quelques pistes de lecture

open access: yesContextes, 2008
In this article, I study the “meaning” of a periodical, in two related ways: on the one hand I consider the “internal” interpretation of a periodical, on the other hand I look at its “external” impact.

Ontogeny of murine bony semicircular canal form

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The labyrinthine geometry and functional anatomy of the semicircular canals have intrigued scientists for decades, and there has been considerable interest in understanding how these complex structures grow and develop with evidence emerging from human studies that size maturation occurs exceptionally early by comparison with other systems ...

From armadillos to sloths: Patterns and variations in xenarthran coronary anatomy

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Species of the superorder Xenarthra play a vital ecological role in the Neotropics. Despite their evolutionary significance, anatomical studies on their coronary circulation remain scarce. This study investigated the coronary anatomy of 82 hearts from nine Xenarthra species across the Dasypodidae, Myrmecophagidae, and Bradypodidae.

Search for D*(2007)0 -> mu+mu- in B--> pi-mu+mu- decays

open access: yes, 2023
The very rare D*(2007)0->mu+mu- decay is searched for by analysing B-->pi-mu+mu- decays. The analysis uses a sample of beauty mesons produced in proton–proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector between 2011 and 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb-1.

Patterns of interspecific variation in labial microarchitecture among anthropoid primates and the evolution of the hominin lips

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Comparative histological and semi‐automated image analysis of primate lips: Masson's trichrome‐stained sagittal sections were segmented to quantify the connective tissue, adipose, and muscular components, enabling interspecific comparisons of labial architecture.
