A Biomarker‐Driven Ovary–Endometrium Organ‐on‐a‐Chip Mimicking 3D Multicellular Complexity and Menstrual Cyclicity for Predicting Reproductive Toxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a dual‐organ, biomarker‐integrated ovaryendometrium organ‐on‐a‐chip that recapitulates 3D tissue complexity, menstrual cycle dynamics, and hormonal crosstalk. This platform enables real‐time, cell‐typespecific fluorescent readouts of reproductive toxicity using ANGPTL4 and SERPINB2 as early‐response reporters.

Essential neuromuscular advice for pathologists: Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (second of two parts)

open access: yesSurgical and Experimental Pathology
Background Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy is defined as a group of progressive autosomal recessive (85%, 28 genes) and autosomal dominant (15%, 5 genes) muscular dystrophies described in at least two unrelated families, affecting individuals that achieve

Nuclear Factor I‐B Delays Liver Fibrosis by Inhibiting Chemokine Ligand 5 Transcription

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the transcription factor Nuclear Factor I‐B (NFIB) as a key suppressor of liver fibrosis. NFIB expression declines during hepatic stellate cell activation, and its overexpression reduces fibrosis in mice models. The mechanism involves NFIB directly repressing chemokine C─C motif ligand 5 (CCL5), thereby alleviating oxidative ...

Promoting Autophagy Mitigates Stress‐Induced Remodeling in Patient iPSC‐CMs with the Phospholamban R9C Mutation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Phospholamban (PLN) R9C mutation reduces SERCA2a binding, increasing calcium recycling and baseline contractility. However, the excess of free PLN promotes pentamer formation, limiting phosphorylation and blunting β‐adrenergic signaling. Under cardiac stress, enhanced functional demands overwhelm proteostasis in PLN R9C cells, leading to misfolded ...
