The Effect of Sand Exercise Program on Knee Muscle Co-contraction in Runners With Over-pronated Feet During Running [PDF]
Purpose: Over-pronated foot (OPF) is a common abnormality of the foot. Sand can change lower limb muscle activities. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a sand exercise program on knee muscle co-contraction in runners with OPF.

Rac1 Is a Novel Regulator of Contraction-Stimulated Glucose Uptake in Skeletal Muscle
In skeletal muscle, the actin cytoskeleton-regulating GTPase, Rac1, is necessary for insulin-dependent GLUT4 translocation. Muscle contraction increases glucose transport and represents an alternative signaling pathway to insulin.

Surface‐attached multilayer micromagnet systems are fabricated by two‐photon crosslinking. The pillar‐shaped micro actuators consist of a soft and flexible surface‐attached cell‐repellent hydrogel layer at the bottom, acting as a hinge and a cell‐adhesive hydrophobic polymer filled with magnetic nanoparticles.

Muscle fibre contraction is a complex thermomechanical process. The change in muscle fibre length (isotonic contraction) and tension (isometric contraction) may be regarded as muscle fibre growth (change in length) and remodelling (change in stiffness ...

The model of circular and longitudinal smooth muscle motions in the motility of intestinal segment [PDF]
Coordination in circular and longitudinal muscle motions are of crucial importance in the motor function of gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Intestinal wall motions depend on myogenic-active properties of smooth muscles layers of intestinal wall, which is the ability to create active contractile forces in response to distension.
