Fisheries Local Action Groups and maritime museums in Spain—An opportunity to enhance the value of fishing culture and heritage

open access: yesCurator: The Museum Journal, Volume 68, Issue 2, Page 319-335, April 2025.
Abstract Although Spain has a long tradition of maritime, naval, and fishing museums, in the last 20 years there has been a boom in museums of this type along the Spanish coast. Paradoxically, this museum boom has coincided with a profound fishing crisis.

J/ψ elliptic and triangular flow in Pb-Pb collisions at s NN $$ \sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} $$ = 5.02 TeV

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
The inclusive J/ψ elliptic (v 2) and triangular (v 3) flow coefficients measured at forward rapidity (2.5 < y < 4) and the v 2 measured at midrapidity (|y| < 0.9) in Pb-Pb collisions at s NN $$ \sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} $$ = 5.02 TeV using the ALICE ...

FROM TRASH TO TREASURE: RILKE AND VENICE REVISITED

open access: yesGerman Life and Letters, Volume 78, Issue 2, Page 127-193, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Rilke loved Venice and visited or passed through a dozen times between 1897 and 1920. He wrote extensively about the city in prose and verse between 1898 and 1908, including a cycle of poems in the Neue Gedichte and a polemical ‘Aufzeichnung’ in Malte Laurids Brigge.

River Geomorphology and Fish Diversity Around the Manseriche Gorge, the Last Andean Crossing Is in Peril

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 60, Issue 11, November 2024.
Abstract The transition from the Andes to the Amazon lowland hosts a high biodiversity and currently is facing several anthropogenic activities, including hydropower infrastructure projects. Little is known about the geomorphology of the Andean gorges, rivers and the interaction with the fish diversity upstream and downstream of gorges.

War without Pain? Representing Death and Injury in the War of the Pacific (1879–1884) in Chilean Museums

open access: yesBulletin of Latin American Research, Volume 43, Issue 5, Page 377-389, November 2024.
This article examines how Chilean museums that exhibit war handles the bodily consequences of war and weapons upon the human body through an investigation of how death and injury in the War of the Pacific (1879–1884) is represented in a museal context. Are Chilean museums able to defetishise historical weapons and other forms of voyeurism? By analysing

The combined effects of habitat fragmentation and life history traits on specialisation in lichen symbioses

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 112, Issue 1, Page 200-216, January 2024.
The study of mycobiont specialisation towards their photobionts in epiphytic lichen communities in a fragmented Mediterranean forest revealed a complex interaction between species life history traits and habitat fragmentation. In particular, this interplay had a significant impact on the specialisation of mycobionts.
