A Query by Humming System for Music Information Retrieval
2010 10th International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications, 2010In this paper we propose a music Query by Humming System made of two main functional blocks; the first implements a voice-to-midi transcription algorithm to process the query, the second implements a search engine based on a novel template matching technique for Dynamic Time Warping.

Audio Features in Music Information Retrieval
2014The rapid increase in the amount of on-line music services creates a need for automatic extraction of information from songs, music indexing and recommendation. But Music Information Retrieval is not an easy task and is still under development. This review paper focuses on features in Music Information Retrieval.

A Matlab Toolbox for Music Information Retrieval
2008We present MIRToolbox, an integrated set of functions written in Matlab, dedicated to the extraction from audio files of musical features related, among others, to timbre, tonality, rhythm or form. The objective is to offer a state of the art of computational approaches in the area of Music Information Retrieval (MIR).

FROM MUSIC INFORMATION RETRIEVAL (MIR) TO INFORMATION RETRIEVAL FOR MUSIC (IRM)
2016This thesis reviews and discusses certain techniques from the domain of (Music) Information Retrieval, in particular some general data mining algorithms. It also describes their specific adaptations for use as building blocks in the CACE4 software application.

Similarity Measures for Music Information Retrieval
2017This article is aimed at presenting a method for the assessment of the similarity between two data strings representing the musical text analyzed on a symbolic level (music notes), in order to cluster and classify musical pieces with particular reference to the files stored according to the MIDI standards.

A Data Model for Music Information Retrieval
2006This paper describes a data model for the representation of tonal music. In this model, music is conceived as an equally-spaced time series of 12-dimensional vectors. The model has been successfully applied to the task of discovering frequently recurring patterns, and to the related task of retrieving user-defined musical patterns.

Advances in Music Information Retrieval
2010Sound waves propagate through various media, and allow communication or entertainment for us, humans. Music we hear or create can be perceived in such aspects as rhythm, melody, harmony, timbre, or mood. All these elements of music can be of interest for users of music information retrieval systems.
