Can We Motivate Students to Practice Physical Activities and Sports Through Models-Based Practice? A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Psychosocial Factors Related to Physical Education

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2019
Adults (more than 18 years old) are likely to reproduce the habits that they acquired during childhood and adolescence (from 6 to 16 years old). For that reason, teachers and parents have the responsibility to promote an active and healthy lifestyle in ...

Nanoporous Silica Embedded in Nanoporous Platinum: A Versatile Composite Coating for Implant‐Associated Drug Delivery From Neuronal Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Nanoporous silica nanoparticles incorporated in nanoporous platinum offer the possibility for implant‐associated drug delivery from neuronal electrodes. ABSTRACT Sensorineural hearing loss, resulting from damage to the hair cells of the inner ear, profoundly impairs quality of life.

A Multidirectional Textile Interface for Remote Control Using Dynamic Area‐Based Capacitance Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Here, we present a textile, wearable capacitive interface enabling multidirectional remote control by dynamically modulating electrode overlap and spacing via a freely gliding upper electrode. A forearm‐mounted prototype drives robotic and media tasks with 12–15 ms latency, maintains < 0.8% drift after 500 cycles, and remains stably functional at 90 ...

The Dynamics of Mastery Motivation and Its Relationship with Self-Concept in Music Education

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences, 2023
Musical education hinges on students’ mastery motivation and self-concept, which are crucial for effective musical learning. Despite the acknowledgement of their individual importance, the relationship between these factors within music education remains

Aberrant GRP78 Phase Transition Sustains Endothelial IRE1α Signaling and Drives Blood–Brain Barrier Failure in Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Vascular Aβ40 corrupts GRP78 phase behavior in brain endothelial cells, sustaining IRE1α–TRAF2–JNK signaling and driving apoptosis, tight junction loss, and blood–brain barrier failure in cerebral amyloid angiopathy. Pharmacological IRE1α inhibition restores vascular integrity, reduces leakage, and improves functional outcomes, revealing a targetable ...

Technology and Computers in Music and Music Education [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The use of computers in music education is investigated from a historical perspective that draws parallels to the use of computers in education generally. Drawing upon a study into the musical compositions of primary school children working in electronic environments this paper presents approaches to the use of ICT in music education that appear at ...

Highly‐Uniform Passive Crossbar Arrays of Resistive Switching Random Access Memory (RRAM) for In‐Memory Computing Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Passive resistive memory arrays promise efficient in‐memory computing but suffer from sneak paths and programming variability. Here, highly uniform 32 × 32 passive RRAM crossbars are programmed with multilevel precision below 3% error and 99.5% yield.

Negotiating contested spaces and places: Narratives of social suffering and resistance in racialized Cape Town communities

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study employs a schizocartographic approach to explore community narratives of space, memory, and violence in Kraaifontein, Cape Town. Through participants' accounts, ordinary places—gardens, shops, blocks, sports grounds, and streets—emerge as ambivalent geographies where trauma, resilience, and belonging intersect.
