Mutual Coupling Effects on Pattern Diversity Antennas for MIMO Femtocells

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2010
Diversity antennas play an important role in wireless communications. However, mutual coupling between multiple ports of a diversity antenna has significant effects on wireless radio links and channel capacity.

A Low-Dimensional Model of Coordinated Eye and Head Movements [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Eye and head movement data, were recorded under head fixed and head-free conditions, and compared with theoretical results obtained using a nonlinear model of eye-head coordination.

Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Deoxidation of Natively Oxide Layer of Copper Powders in a Fluidized Bed

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Capon DOD/DOA Estimation Algorithm for Bistatic MIMO Radar Using Dipole Antenna Arrays with Known Mutual Coupling

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology
This study focuses on the joint estimation of the direction of departure (DOD) and direction of arrival (DOA) of multiple targets in bistatic multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar systems employing orthogonal waveforms.

Mutual Coupling Reduction Between Implanted Microstrip Antennas on a Cylindrical Bio-Metallic Ground Plane

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
The mutual coupling between two antennas within a human body model is studied. Our multilayer cylindrical body model includes highly lossy body tissues under which a biocompatible metal implant is inserted.

Asynchronous response of coupled pacemaker neurons

open access: yes, 2009
We study a network model of two conductance-based pacemaker neurons of differing natural frequency, coupled with either mutual excitation or inhibition, and receiving shared random inhibitory synaptic input. The networks may phase-lock spike-to-spike for

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Minimizing Mutual Coupling

open access: yes, 2012
Disclosed herein are techniques, systems, and methods relating to minimizing mutual coupling between a first antenna and a second antenna. In one implementation, a plurality of antennas and at least one tuning module are provided. A control module may be coupled to the tuning module.

The Influence of Mutual Coupling Effect on the Radiation Pattern Characteristics of the Nulling Phased Antenna Array

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений России: Радиоэлектроника, 2016
The influence of the mutual coupling effect between the antenna array radiators on the characteristics of the radiation pattern was investigated. It was demonstrated that the mutual coupling between the array elements causes a redistribution of the ...

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.
