Mutual coupling between spherical‐rectangular microstrip antennas

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2004
AbstractThe mutual coupling between rectangular microstrip patches mounted on a spherical structure is studied in this paper. The analysis approach is based on the spectral‐domain method of moments (MoM). An approximate method is developed to calculate coupling between currents located on different patches. A laboratory model is built to test different

Mutual Coupling Reduction in an Array of Patch Antennas Using CLL Metamaterial Superstrate for MIMO Applications

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2019
The capability of a magnetodielectric superstrate to suppress the surface wave propagation is investigated. It is shown that the capacitively loaded loop (CLL) metamaterial (MTM) superstrate exhibits a high degree of surface wave attenuation.

MUTUAL COUPLING IN ARRAY ANTENNAS

1966
Abstract : The report summarizes the current level of understanding of the performance of arrays of real radiators. The extent and nature of the effects of mutual coupling (element pattern distortion, element impedance variation with scan angle, and polarization variation with scan angle) in array antennas are investigated for a variety of array ...

On the evaluation of mutual coupling between slots

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1987
Analytical expressions for mutual coupling between slots embedded in a large ground plane are presented and discussed, both for piecewise-sinusoidal and for cosinusoidal field distribution. In the former an exact analytical expression has been found; in the latter various approximations based on Taylor and/or Fourier representation, have been analyzed.

Mutual and Self-Impedance for Coupled Antennas

Journal of Applied Physics, 1944
A general theory for the current in coupled antennas is formulated in terms of the vector potential and applied to determine the self-impedance Zs1 and the mutual impedance Z12 of a center-driven antenna in the presence of a second parallel, identical antenna which may be center-driven or center-loaded in an arbitrary way.

Mutual coupling reduction using coupling matrix based band stop filter

AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2020
Abstract The capability of the coupling matrix-based band stop filter in mutual coupling reduction between the MIMO arrays is presented. Initially, a microstrip band-stop filter with 3 GHz center frequency is designed using coupling matrix method. This filter structure is then placed between 2×1 radiating patches separated by 0.22 λ in a reference ...

Coupling-induced resonance in two mutually and asymmetrically coupled oscillators

Physical Review E, 2008
We consider two mutually coupled oscillators, where we have independent control over the magnitude, sign, and delay of the coupling signal. For appropriate tuning of the coupling constants, there is a coupling-induced resonance where the amplitude becomes large.
