Electro‐Chemo‐Mechanical Coupling in Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 Ferroionic Heterostructures
Schematic of a ferroionic HZO heterostructure where epitaxial interfaces enable dynamic oxygen‐vacancy exchange, coupling ionic and ferroelectric degrees of freedom. Vacancy‐mediated polarization modulation biases HZO polymorphism, suppresses leakage, and enhances piezoelectric response, yielding distinct butterfly‐loop evolution and diode‐like ...

Beyond the Edge: Charge‐Transfer Excitons in Organic Donor‐Acceptor Cocrystals
Complex excitonic landscapes in acene–perfluoroacene cocrystals are unveiled by polarization‐resolved optical spectroscopy and many‐body theory. This systematic study of a prototypical model system for weakly interacting donor–acceptor compounds challenges common views of charge‐transfer excitons, providing a refined conceptual framework for ...

Cuttlebone‐inspired metamaterials exploit a septum‐wall architecture to achieve excellent mechanical and functional properties. This review classifies existing designs into direct biomimetic, honeycomb‐type, and strut‐type architectures, summarizes governing design principles, and presents a decoupled design framework for interpreting multiphysical ...

UK mutual fund performance [PDF]
Using a comprehensive data set on (surviving and non-surviving) UK equity mutual funds (April 1975 - December 2002), this study uses a bootstrap methodology to distinguish between `skill' and `luck' in fund performance. This methodology allows for non-normality in the idiosyncratic risks of the funds -a major issue when considering the `best' and ...

From Bug to Feature: Harnessing Cross‐Sensitivity for Multiparametric Luminescence Sensing
Cross‐sensitivity in luminescence sensing is reframed from a limitation into a resource for multiparametric detection. Using ruby microspheres as a model system, cross‐sensitivity is quantitatively assessed and exploited through linear discriminant analysis, enabling simultaneous, correction‐free pressure and temperature sensing with a single ...

Mutual Fund Growth in Standard and Specialist Market Segments [PDF]
We examine differences in the performance flow relationship (PFR) between different segments of the fund industry. Such differences can be caused by distinct mutual fund investors’ characteristics in different segments.

Shape‐Changing Multiphase Microparticles from Complex Liquid Crystal Emulsions
Liquid crystalline network (LCN) microparticles are prepared from single, double (Janus), and triple emulsions through a simple and scalable bulk‐emulsification strategy. Under heating, the particles exhibit robust, reversible, large‐amplitude deformations that depend both on the morphology and the liquid crystals director field configuration.

The value of coskewness in mutual fund performance evaluation. [PDF]
Recent asset pricing studies demonstrate the relevance of incorporating coskewness in asset pricing models, and illustrate how this component helps to explain the time variation of ex-ante market risk premiums.
