Non-tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) are emerging as an important opportunistic pathogen. Since clinical presentation of NTM infection is similar to tuberculosis (TB), patients present as suspected TB or drug resistant TB.

Enhanced heterogeneity of rpoB in Mycobacterium tuberculosis found at low pH.
OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to gain an insight into the molecular mechanisms of the evolution of rifampicin resistance in response to controlled changes in the environment.

Asymptomatic Neurosyphilis Presenting With Bilateral Pulmonary Nodules: A Case Report
This report presents for the first time, a case of asymptomatic neurosyphilis with multiple pulmonary nodules and buttock lipodystrophy. This case showed a high expression of RPR (154 R.U.) and given the nature of the patient's work (long‐distance transportation), short‐term follow‐up was difficult.

A signal transduction blind spot: the function of adenylyl cyclase transmembrane domains
Transmembrane adenylyl cyclases (tmACs) are essential for synthesising the universal second messenger cyclic AMP. All tmACs share a common topology that includes a large 12‐helix transmembrane (TM) domain. This domain accounts for ~ 35% of the coding sequence but its function is still an open question.

Heterogeneity among Mycobacterium avium complex species isolated from pulmonary infection in Taiwan
Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) is an emerging pathogen causing nontuberculous pulmonary infections globally. However, clinical treatment guidelines regard MAC as a single entity, recommending a universal anti-mycobacterial combination therapy.

Abstract Extractable glycolipids of mycobacteria, such as lipooligosaccharides (LOSs), play crucial roles in responding to environmental stress and modulating the host immune response. Although the biosynthesis of LOS is likely regulated at multiple levels to ensure proper composition of the cell wall, the key regulators remain unknown.

Subacute Mastoiditis Without Verified Nontuberculous Mycobacteria—Still a Clinical Challenge
SAM represents an indolent form of mastoiditis with potential serious complications. Radiology, histopathological, and microbiological sampling is crucial for diagnosing this infection to optimize treatment and improve outcome. ABSTRACT Objective An indolent form of mastoiditis has gained increased attention lately, challenging clinicians both ...

Genomic evidence suggests that sex chromosomes may not be conserved within liverworts. Re‐evolution of dioicy in the genus Riccia may have occurred with probable de novo establishment of a new sex chromosome from the autosome, and the m‐chromosomes have evolved independently from chromosomes in the Marchantiales.
