Hidden Fungal DNA Structures May Shape Sequencing Outcomes

open access: yesBioEssays, Volume 48, Issue 6, June 2026.
Sequencing fungal DNA presents numerous challenges, and unexplored structural anomalies may be a contributor. Native ONT sequencing allows artefacts of disrupted pore translocation to be interrogated, facilitating mapping to genomic loci using raw signal analyses. Subsequent visualization tools could reveal novel genome architectures and drive advances

The Effect of Ozone Therapy on Psoriasis

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Psoriasis is an immune‐mediated skin disease in which genetic and environmental factors have a significant role. Olive oil with antioxidant properties is an effective adjunct treatment for skin diseases. Furthermore, ozone by introducing O2 into the bloodstream controls the response of cell‐mediated immunity and leads to improve disease.

Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Pneumonitis Complicated by Invasive Pulmonary Aspergillosis in COPD: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Challenges

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Checkpoint inhibitor‐associated pneumonitis complicated by invasive pulmonary aspergillosis represents a diagnostic challenge in ICI‐treated patients, particularly those with COPD receiving corticosteroid therapy. Persistent or worsening respiratory abnormalities despite immunosuppressive treatment should prompt reassessment for superimposed ...

Cutaneous Mucormycosis Clinically Mimicking Necrotizing Fasciitis in a Patient Without Active Immunosuppression

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Cutaneous mucormycosis is a rare invasive fungal infection caused by fungi of the order Mucorales. Although it classically occurs in immunocompromised hosts, traumatic or minor cutaneous inoculation may result in infection even in patients without active immunosuppression.
