Mycoplasma genitalium has developed resistance to first-line azithromycin and second-line moxifloxacin. Third-line pristinamycin is only 75% effective. Gepotidacin, a novel triazaacenaphthylene topoisomerase II inhibitor, blocks bacterial DNA replication.
