Biochemistry of Mycoplasma hominis.
Sexually transmitted diseases, 1984The growth of Mycoplasma hominis is stimulated by arginine. A possible mechanism for degradation of this amino acid is the arginine dihydrolase pathway. The first enzyme of the pathway, arginine deiminase, is inducible in M. hominis. Evidence exists that the dihydrolase pathway is not the major pathway to production of adenosine triphosphate in the ...

The recombinant Escherichia coli strain producing arginine deiminase of Mycoplasma hominis has been constructed. Storage conditions that provide stabilization of most productive clones of the producer were found. Terms for cultivation of the arginine deiminase producer using bioreactors of different volume were optimized.
