Oral immunization of mice with attenuated Salmonella typhimurium aroA expressing a recombinant Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae antigen (NrdF) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae is the etiological agent of porcine enzootic pneumonia, a commercially expensive respiratory disease of swine. Salmonella typhimurium SL3261 was used as a live carrier of plasmid pKF1, which encodes a 15-kDa recombinant M ...

Prolonged carriage of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae

open access: yesJournal of Swine Health and Production
A Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae elimination program was undertaken on a 1200-sow farm. While the exact duration is not known, it is estimated that despite an extended closure and treatments with different antibiotics, some sow tracheobronchial swabs remained M hyopneumoniae positive for at least 365 days.

Interaction betweenMycoplasma hyopneumoniaeand Swine Influenza Virus [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Microbiology, 2001
ABSTRACTAn experimental respiratory model was used to investigate the interaction betweenMycoplasma hyopneumoniaeand swine influenza virus (SIV) in the induction of pneumonia in susceptible swine. Previous studies demonstrated thatM. hyopneumoniae, which produces a chronic bronchopneumonia in swine, potentiates a viral pneumonia induced by the porcine ...

Whole‐Genomic Characterization of Two Different PRRSV‐1 Strains Isolated From a Single Pig

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Recent studies have demonstrated that porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus 1 (PRRSV‐1) strains isolated from different farms in China have significant genomic heterogeneity, whereas strains from the same farm present a high degree of genomic similarity.

Antibiotic Susceptibility of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae Isoiated from Swine.

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Science, 1994
The antibiotic susceptibility of thirty-nine strains of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae isolated from swine between 1970-1981 and 1989-1990 was investigated. From the present results, it is suggested that the susceptibility to chlortetracycline has been decreasing in Japan.

Comparative Genomic and Biological Investigation of NADC30‐ and NADC34‐Like PRRSV Strains Isolated in South Korea

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is a globally endemic, costly swine arterivirus with wide genetic and antigenic variations, leading to the frequent appearance of novel virulent strains that hampers PRRSV control. Recently, NADC30‐like (lineage 1C, L1C) and NADC34‐like (lineage 1A, L1A) PRRSV strains were reported to be ...

Design of a Multiepitope Pan‐Proteomic mRNA Vaccine Construct Against African Swine Fever Virus: A Reverse Vaccinology Approach

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine International, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
African swine fever (ASF), caused by African swine fever virus (ASFV), is a highly contagious disease with devastating effects on the global pig industry. This warrants the development of effective control strategies, such as vaccines. However, previously developed inactivated vaccines have proven ineffective, while live‐attenuated vaccines carry ...

ABC transporters in Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and Mycoplasma synoviae: insights into evolution and pathogenicity

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2007
ABC transporters represent one of the largest superfamilies of active membrane transport proteins (MTPs) with a highly conserved ATPase domain that binds and hydrolyzes ATP, supplying energy for the uptake of a variety of nutrients and for the extrusion ...

open access: yes, 2015
© 2015 by the authors. Mycoplasma pneumoniae is a significant cause of community acquired pneumonia globally. Despite having a genome less than 1 Mb in size, M.
