Cytotoxicity of Mycoplasma mycoides Subspecies mycoides for Cultured Endothelial Cells

Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, 1989
Toxic effect of 5 SC- and 4 LC-type strains of Mycoplasma mycoides subspecies mycoides has been demonstrated in cultured endothelial cells. The SC strains are agents of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia and presumably specific for cattle although occasionally isolated from goats.

A study of Mycoplasma mycoides var. mycoides and Mycoplasma mycoides var. capri by cross-protection tests in mice

Journal of Comparative Pathology, 1969
Abstract Using a mouse protection test, each of 6 inactivated vaccines prepared from different strains of Mycoplasma mycoides var. mycoides and inoculated intravenously immunised mice strongly against not only the homologous strain but also the 5 heterologous strains. Antigenic stimulation with M. mycoides var.

P19 contributes to Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides adhesion to EBL cells

Microbial Pathogenesis, 2016
Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides (Mmm) is the causative agent of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP). The virulent Mmm Ben-1 strain was isolated from the lung of a CBPP-infected cow in China in the 1950s. To attenuate the virulence of the Ben-1 strain and preserve its protective ability, the isolate was re-isolated after inoculation into the ...

Comparison of caprine mycoplasmosis caused by Mycoplasma capricolum, Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides, and Mycoplasma putrefaciens.

Israel journal of medical sciences, 1987
We reviewed the disease process in goats caused by Mycoplasma capricolum, M. mycoides subsp. mycoides, and M. putrefaciens and compared mycoplasma-infected goats (particularly young kids) for microanatomic changes. M. capricolum and M. mycoides subsp. mycoides cause a nearly identical disease: septicemia leading to pyrexia, high morbidity and mortality,

RELATED ANTIGENS IN MYCOPLASMA PNEUMONIAE AND MYCOPLASMA MYCOIDES VAR. MYCODES

Australian Journal of Experimental Biology and Medical Science, 1965
SummarySerological cross‐reactions have been observed between Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Mycoplasma mycoides in tests with convalescent‐phase sera From human begins with atypical pneumonia, with sera from rabbits hyper‐immunised with one or other of the two strains, and with post‐infection sera from cattle experimentally inoculated with M.

One Test Microbial Diagnostic Microarray for Identification of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides and Other Mycoplasma Species

Molecular Biotechnology, 2012
The present study describes the use of microarray technology for rapid identification and differentiation of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides from other mycoplasmas that may be pathogenic to ruminants, including those of the Mycoplasma mycoides cluster, genetically and antigenically strictly correlated with Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides.

Identification and characterization of IS1296 in Mycoplasma mycoides subsp, mycoides SC and presence in related mycoplasmas

Gene, 1995
IS1296, a new insertion sequence belonging to the IS3 family of insertion elements has been identified in Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides (Mmm) biotype small colony (SC), the agent of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP). IS1296 is 1485-bp long and has 30-bp inverted repeats.

Caprine pneumonia IV: Pathogenicity of Mycoplasma mycoides subspecies capri and caprine strains of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides for goats

Journal of Comparative Pathology, 1976
Abstract M. mycoides subsp. mycoides and M. mycoides subsp. capri were both shown to be pathogenic to goats experimentally infected by the endobronchial route. The infected animals were dull, unable to eat and had a high temperature. The mean mortality rate for all the infected animals was 74 per cent., the highest mortality being 100 per ...
