Cerebral Aspergillosis Caused by Neosartorya hiratsukae, Brazil

We report the first case of infection by Neosartorya hiratsukae, an ascomycete in which the conidial state resembles Aspergillus fumigatus. The fungus caused a brain infection in a Brazilian woman, who died despite itraconazole treatment.
