Dexmedetomidine Associated with Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome in Ophthalmic Surgery

Intraoperative floppy iris syndrome is characterized by flaccid iris stroma, iris prolapse, and progressive pupil constriction. Dexmedetomidine results in abrupt constriction of the well-dilated pupils. Three cataract patients were studied.
