MYDRIATICS

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1949
THE PURPOSE of this paper is to evaluate the clinical merit of the commonly available mydriatics as to such factors as safety, speed of action and return to normal pupillary size. All drugs used in medicine have a range of dosage depending in part on the age of the patient and on whether the clinician desires the minimal or maximal effective dose for ...

Short acting soft mydriatics

Current Eye Research, 1991
Three soft drug analogs of atropine have been tested for mydriatic activity in rabbits' eyes and their in vitro metabolic pathway has been investigated in rat, rabbit and human blood. The three soft drugs were found to produce an equieffective mydriatic activity to atropine and tropicamide.

MYDRIATIC GLAUCOMA

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1933
In reviewing the literature on acute glaucoma, particularly in reference to cases following the use of mydriatics, one cannot but be impressed by the few references to mydriatic glaucoma. The term "mydriatic glaucoma," which I believe to be well chosen, was first used by A. Heyl, 1 in 1882, and again by H. Gifford 2 in 1916.

Mydriatic Solution for Indirect Ophthalmoscopy

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1981

Tropicamide, a New Cycloplegic Mydriatic

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1961
Efforts continue in the search for an ideal cycloplegic agent to produce adequate cycloplegia in a relatively short time, rapid recovery from paralysis of accommodation, and no local or systemic ill effects. Tropicamide (Mydriacyl) is the newest of the cycloplegic agents to be introduced in this country.* This compound is chemically designated as N ...
