GESTRINONE IN THE TREATMENT OF MYOMAS
Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, 1989In a study involving over 300 women, gestrinone has been found to induce regression of uterine myomas. Uterine myomas are the most common solid pelvic tumors in women and the primary indication for hysterectomy. Most of the myomas are asymptomatic. The most common symptoms associated with uterine myomas are abnormal uterine bleeding and pelvic discomfort mostly caused by the mass effect. Vaginal bleeding may lead to iron deficiency anemia.
