Phylogenetic distance controls plant growth during early restoration of a semi‐arid riparian forest

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 3, Issue 4, October–December 2022., 2022
Increased phylogenetic diversity but not species richness promoted plant growth during the restoration of a semi‐arid riparian forest in NE Brazil. Such an effect was mediated by the proximity of the plants with the watercourse, indicating the importance of differences in resource use among plants.

Pharmacological Therapies for the Management of Inflammatory Bone Resorption in Periodontal Disease: A Review of Preclinical Studies

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Periodontitis, a highly prevalent multicausal chronic inflammatory and destructive disease, develops as a result of complex host‐parasite interactions. Dysbiotic bacterial biofilm in contact with the gingival tissues initiates a cascade of inflammatory events, mediated and modulated by the host’s immune response, which is characterized by increased ...

Climate and the Myracrodruon urundeuva Allemão seed production

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Geografia Física, 2020
The seed physiological quality is related with climate variation during development. Thus, the aim of this study was to determinate the relation among climatic factors and germination of M. urundeuva seeds in different growing seasons and to predict the germination according to the climatic scenarios.

Germination patterns and seedling growth of congeneric native and invasive Mimosa species: Implications for risk assessment. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
Comparing the traits of congeneric native and invasive plants provides insights on the invasiveness of the introduced species. We compared germination pattern and seedling growth vigor of native Mimosa himalayana and invasive M. diplotricha which are sympatrically occurring in southeastern Nepal.
