Zoogeographic analysis of Chilopoda and Diplop-oda of the fauna of the Central Ciscaucasia

open access: yesНаука. Инновации. Технологии, 2022
There is a zoogeographical analysis of 55 species of centipedes and millipedes of the Central Ciscaucasia. It was revealed that in the formation of the fauna of this region, the most important were species that refer to the Boreal, Mediterranean and ...

open access: yesActa Amazonica, 1979
Summary More than 800 specimens of migrating symphylans (Myriapoda, Symphyla, Scutigerellidae) have been collected in an inundation forest at the rio Tarumã-Mirim near Manaus in Brazil.

Comparative study on the performance of sampling methods for Myriapoda (Diplopoda, Chilopoda, Symphyla) and Oniscidea from Buzău mountains

open access: yesTravaux de l'Institut de Speologie Emile Racovitza
In this paper we focus on some edaphic macroinvertebrates, Oniscidea, Diplopoda, Chilopoda and Symphyla, and their activity-density in relation with a short-term sampling protocol and a series of environmental factors.

The Complete Mitochondrial Genome of the Geophilomorph Centipede Strigamia maritima.

open access: yes, 2015
Strigamia maritima (Myriapoda; Chilopoda) is a species from the soil-living order of geophilomorph centipedes. The Geophilomorpha is the most speciose order of centipedes with over a 1000 species described.

A new genus of the millipede tribe Brachyiulini (Diplopoda: Julida: Julidae) from the Aegean region

open access: yes, 2013
A new genus of the julid tribe Brachyiulini, Enghophyllum gen. nov., is described, comprising two species from Greece. The type-species, E. naxium (Verhoeff, 1901) comb. nov. (ex Megaphyllum Verhoeff, 1894), appears to be rather widespread in the Aegean:

Edges as ecological filters: Asymmetrical orientation‐specific arthropod activity across forest boundaries

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Moderate retention forestry creates structurally sharp forest edges that act as ecological filters, shaping orientation‐specific activity of ground‐dwelling arthropods. Using drift‐fence pitfall traps, we show that activity aligned with ecotones is more frequent than activity across forest–clearcut boundaries, particularly among detritivores.

Trachelipus razzauti (Arcangeli, 1913) (Crustacea: Isopoda: Oniscidea) and Typhloiulus serborum Ćurčić & Makarov, 2005 (Myriapoda: Diplopoda) – new species for the Romanian fauna

open access: yesTravaux de l'Institut de Speologie Emile Racovitza
A new species of Oniscidea, Trachelipus razzauti, and a new species of Diplopoda, Typhloiulus serborum, are recorded first time for the Romanian fauna. Both species have been “discovered” in the collection of the “Emil Racoviţă” Institute of Speleology.

Beyond species diversity: Functional responses of cave arthropods to microclimatic stability and structural complexity

open access: yesEcological Entomology, EarlyView.
Species richness declined along cave microclimatic gradient, while diversity increased with habitat heterogeneity, highlighting distinct roles of abiotic conditions and structural complexity in shaping arthropod communities. Functional traits shifted along the microclimatic gradient, with larger‐bodied and more eye‐regressed arthropods dominating under
