Duchesnea(Rosaceae)has fruits(etaerios)like strawberry(Fragaria)and is so far thought to be a bird-disseminated plant. However, its achenes possess appendages that are morphologically like elaiosomes, suggest-ing that ants would disseminate those achenes and seeds.
