The whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) and the aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer) are important pests in tomato and chilli pepper. These pests directly attack and as a viral vector can decrease the production of tomato and chili ...

Light‐emitting diode (LED)‐based treatments for enhancing crop production and pest management have primarily focused on continuous treatments. This study, using Tetranychus urticae and Phytoseiulus persimilis, demonstrates that the timing of LED supplementation is crucial for designing integrated pest management strategies that improve both plant ...

Proinsecticides effective against insecticide-resistant peach-potato aphid (Myzus persicae (Sulzer))
A range of potential proinsecticides was synthesised and tested against insecticide-susceptible and -resistant clones of Myzus persicae (Sulzer). They were all esters of compounds known to be toxic or pharmacologically active, and were designed to have ...

Transcription of densovirus endogenous sequences in the Myzus persicae genome
Integration of non-retroviral sequences in the genome of different organisms has been observed and, in some cases, a relationship of these integrations with immunity has been established. The genome of the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (clone G006), was screened for densovirus-like sequence (DLS) integrations.

ABSTRACT Pesticides and pharmaceuticals are among the most common chemical groups in waterbodies and soils, and their universal distribution raises concerns about potential adverse effects on nontarget organisms and humans. Reproductive output disruption is of particular concern, as it transposes effects from the individual to the next generations at ...

Temporal and spatial incidence of insecticide resistance in Myzus persicae in Europe
Advances in understanding insecticide resistance in the peach-potato aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer), at the genotypic, biochemical and molecular levels have led to rapid and precise methods for the detection of several resistance mechanisms (elevated ...

Aphids pose a serious risk to horticultural crops. Current biocontrol strategies often fail due to the poor establishment of natural enemies when aphids are scarce. We evaluated the potential of two aphidophagous predators, Micromus variegatus and Scymnus interruptus, to be used as preventive biocontrol agents, released before aphid infestation.

Diagnosis of Resistance to Organophosphorus Insecticides in Myzus persicae (Sulz.)
THE chemical control of the green peach aphid Myzus persicae (Sulz.), which damages many crops both directly and by transmitting numerous virus diseases, is seriously jeopardized by the world wide occurrence of resistance to organophosphorus insecticides.
