Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

S-Shaped Connected Component for Nonlinear Fourth-Order Problem of Elastic Beam Equation

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2017
We investigate the existence of S-shaped connected component in the set of positive solutions of the fourth-order boundary value problem: u′′′′x=λhxfux, x∈(0,1),u(0)=u(1)=u′′0=u′′1=0, where λ>0 is a parameter, h∈C[0,1], and f∈C[0,∞) with f0≔lims→0⁡(f(s ...

On the 1-factors of n-connected graphs

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series B, 1971
AbstractL. W. Beineke and M. D. Plummer have recently proved [1] that every n-connected graph with a 1-factor has at least n different 1-factors. The main purpose of this paper is to prove that every n-connected graph with a 1-factor has at least as many as n(n − 2)(n − 4) … 4 · 2, (or: n(n − 2)(n − 4) … 5 · 3) 1-factors. The main lemma used is: if a 2-

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Rainbow Disconnection in Graphs

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2018
Let G be a nontrivial connected, edge-colored graph. An edge-cut R of G is called a rainbow cut if no two edges in R are colored the same. An edge-coloring of G is a rainbow disconnection coloring if for every two distinct vertices u and v of G, there ...

On geometry of Kenmotsu manifolds with N-connection

open access: yesDifferential Geometry of Manifolds of Figures, 2019
A Kenmotsu manifold with a given N-connection is considered. From the integrability of the distribution of a Kenmotsu manifold it follows that the N-connection belongs to the class of the quarter-symmetric connections. Among the N-connections, the class of connections adapted to the structure of the Kenmotsu manifold is specified.

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.
