Enhanced biodegradation of n-hexane by Pseudomonas sp. strain NEE2
Pseudomonas sp. strain NEE2 isolated from oil-polluted soils could biodegrade n-hexane effectively. In this study, the secretory product of n-hexane biodegradation by NEE2 was extracted, characterized, and investigated on the secretory product’s enhanced

Tailored Diketopyrrolopyrrole Derivatives for Efficient Deep‐Red Organic Lasers
Tailored diketopyrrolopyrrole derivatives exhibit high stable amplified spontaneous emission with single or dual bands. Incorporated into distributed‐feedback lasers based on one‐ and two‐dimensional dichromated‐gelatin diffractive gratings, these materials provide a robust, flexible platform for integrated organic deep‐red light sources. ABSTRACT Deep‐

Inherent Safety Assessment of Solvent Alternatives for Palm Oil Recovery
Solvent extraction is a method implemented with the purpose to recover the remaining oil in spent bleaching earth. n-hexane is the most commonly used solvent in solvent extraction due to its advantages such as able to easily extract the oil and can be ...

A regenerated cellulose (RC) hydrogel‐based SERS substrate integrating a Marangoni‐transferred gold nanoparticle self‐assembled monolayer (Au‐SAM) is fabricated. Reswelling‐induced hotspot formation enhances polystyrene micro/nanoplastics (PS MNPs) detection in complex matrices, providing reproducible, high‐throughput SERS signals across diverse ...

Antioxidant Activity Evaluation from Tomatoes’ N-Hexane, Ethyl Asetate, and Water Fraction with DPPH
Antioxidants are compounds that can stabilize free radicals in the body. Free radicals are highly reactive molecules as they have unpaired electrons to interact with body cell molecules. Tomatoes contain flavonoids, saponins, solanine tannins, folic acid,

This study introduces a modular microfluidic platform that connects liver cells with live microbes to mimic key aspects of the gut–liver interaction in steatosis. Using this system, both microbial metabolites and live bacteria significantly reduced fat accumulation in liver cells, but live microbes triggered inflammation and broader metabolic changes ...

In Situ Amine Formation to Modulate MOF‐Derived PdIn N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts
An amine‐assisted approach converts PdIn‐MOF into PdIn intermetallic nanoparticles embedded in N‐doped carbon. In situ‐generated amines trigger early Pd nucleation, producing smaller PdIn domains than direct pyrolysis. Amine sterics and basicity tune composition and particle size, while solvent and amine co‐determine textural features.

2D MOF with Intrinsic Porosity for Colorimetric Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Detection
An uncommon 2D MOF with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that can be mechanically exfoliated undergoes a distinct and reversible colour change upon exposure to various volatile organic compounds. ABSTRACT In this work, we report an uncommon 2D metal–organic framework (MOF) with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that undergoes a distinct and reversible colour ...
