Temperature-responsive N-isopropylacrylamide-grafted natural rubber

Polymer Bulletin, 2017
Temperature-responsive polymers are smart materials that respond to changes in temperature and have a wide range of applications, ranging from sensing to biomedical fields. In this work, we investigated the synthesis and temperature-responsive behavior of responsive elastomer based on N-isopropylacrylamide-grafted natural rubber.

Heat conduction in poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) hydrogels

International Journal of Thermal Sciences, 2014
Abstract Biological tissues are combination of liquids and fibrous solids, therefore polymer hydrogels can be used as model heat transfer system for soft tissues. The 3D network structure of the polymer prevents the convection and the dominant mechanism becomes heat conduction.

Preparation of aqueous latices with N-isopropylacrylamide

Colloids and Surfaces, 1986
The preparation and characterization of monodisperse aqueous latex dispersions prepared from mixtures of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM), acrylamide and N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide are described. Latices were prepared with solid contents up to 2.5%; the maximum acrylamide concentration which gave a good latex was about 1%. Absorbance (i.e.

Photopolymerization synthesis of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) hydrogels

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1997
Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (NIPAAm) gels were formed by photopolymerization of NIPAAm in the absence of a crosslinker using a water solvent at 25°C. Factors affecting formation were the wavelength region of irradiated light, the type of photoinitiators, and the concentrations of the photoinitiator and monomer.
