Subsurface banding increases ammonia emissions under rainfed cotton in Florida sandy soils
Ammonia (NH3) volatilization is a significant pathway for nitrogen (N) loss. The acidic, sandy soils of Florida offer ideal conditions for NH3 losses in rainfed cotton production systems.

This study presents a versatile approach to harnessing miscible aqueous domains, enabling liquid‐in‐liquid compartmentalization using a barrier formed in situ rather than bulk immiscibility. The barrier forms upon the complexation of multifunctional nanoparticles and ligands at the contact boundary of aqueous phases.

Nitrogen: from discovery, plant assimilation, sustainable usage to current enhanced efficiency fertilizers technologies – A review [PDF]
From 1913 onwards, the global situation changed from a scenario of nitrogen (N) scarcity to an abundance of ammonia (NH3) produced synthetically via the Haber-Bosch process.

Coal char affects soil pH to reduce ammonia volatilization from sandy loam soil
Ammonia (NH3) volatilization loss adversely affects N availability in soil‐plant systems, reduces crop yield, and negatively impacts environment. Char (coal combustion residue), which contains up to 293 g kg−1 total C by weight, has been shown to reduce ...

Low-Mass Star Forming Cores in the GF9 Filament [PDF]
We carried out an unbiased mapping survey of dense molecular cloud cores traced by the NH3 (1,1) and (2,2) inversion lines in the GF9 filament which contains an extremely young low-mass protostar GF9-2 (Furuya et al. 2006, ApJ, 653, 1369). The survey was

Cephalopod‐inspired photonic microparticles with dynamic structural coloration are fabricated via confined self‐assembly of linear block copolymers into ellipsoids containing stacked lamellae. Embedded superparamagnetic nanoparticles enable rapid magnetic alignment, restoring vivid, angle‐dependent color.
