The Effect of Wearing N95 Respirator Masks on Intraocular Pressure of Health Care Workers

open access: yesPhilippine Journal of Ophthalmology, 2022
Objective: We determined if there was a significant change in the intraocular pressure (IOP) of healthcare workers with extended use of N95 masks. Methods: This was a prospective time-series study involving 58 eyes of 29 healthcare workers who were ...

Molecular Lines of 13 Galactic Infrared Bubble Regions

open access: yes, 2016
We investigated the physical properties of molecular clouds and star formation processes around infrared bubbles which are essentially expanding HII regions. We performed observations of 13 galactic infrared bubble fields containing 18 bubbles.

A High‐Performance and Fully Recyclable Supramolecular Nanofibrous Membrane for Multifunctional Air Filtration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A green, thermoreversible self‐assembly strategy yields a multifunctional and recyclable supramolecular nanofibrous membrane. Graphene oxide (GO) nanosheet acts as a heterogeneous nucleation‐templating agent, simultaneously modulating the supramolecular crystal packing while tailoring the nanofibrous architecture for elite performance.

A hybrid method for indoor user localisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this work we describe an approach to indoor user localisation by combining image-based and RF-based methods and compare this new approach to prior work. This paper details a new algorithm for indoor user localisation, demonstrating more effective user

New QCD Sum Rules for Nucleons in Nuclear Matter [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Two new QCD sum rules for nucleons in nuclear matter are obtained from a mixed correlator of spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 interpolating fields. These new sum rules, which are insensitive to the poorly known four-quark condensates, provide additional information

Fiber‐type soft bioelectronics for wearable and implantable sensing and therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Fiber‐type soft bioelectronics are emerging as versatile platforms for wearable and implantable health monitoring and therapeutic applications. These bioelectronics use organic and inorganic matrices combined with advanced fillers, which feature high conductivity, electrochemical sensitivity, softness, and biocompatibility.

An operational definition of quark and gluon jets

open access: yes, 2018
While "quark" and "gluon" jets are often treated as separate, well-defined objects in both theoretical and experimental contexts, no precise, practical, and hadron-level definition of jet flavor presently exists.

Spike detection in the wild: Screening of suspected temporal lobe epilepsy cases using a tailored 2‐channel wearable EEG

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To clinically validate the contribution of a custom‐built EEG wearable device (waEEG) compared to a full 10–20 electrode array ambulatory EEG (aEEG) for screening epilepsy cases in patients with suspected temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) but negative routine EEGs. Methods Patients (aged 16–91 years) with clinically suspected TLE who were

Throughflow centrality is a global indicator of the functional importance of species in ecosystems

open access: yes, 2012
To better understand and manage complex systems like ecosystems it is critical to know the relative contribution of system components to system functioning. Ecologists and social scientists have described many ways that individuals can be important; This
