Isomers in the N = 83 nucleus 149Dy

Energy levels in the N = 83 nucleus 149Dy were studied by the reaction 152Gd(α, 7n) at 106 MeV bombarding energy using in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy methods. The measurements identified three isomers in this nucleus, at 1073 keV (13 ± 3 ns), at 2700±150keV (5 μs < T12 < 0.5 s), and above 3.5 MeV (50 ± 15 ns).

Unified model calculations for the N = 83 nuclei

Abstract Level schemes of the N = 83 nuclei 137Xe, 139Ba, 141Ce and 143Nd are obtained in a unified model calculation. Spectroscopic factors for (d, p) reactions are calculated and compared with experimental data. Magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments of the ground state are calculated. Some (M1 + E2) transition rates are discussed in 141Ce.

High spin shape isomers in N=83 isotones

High-spin isomers in N=83 isotones were systematically studied. Rather constant excitation energies of these isomers were attributed to the decrease of a Z=64 shell gap as decreasing Z from 64 to 60. The isomerism may be originated from a sudden shape change from near spherical to oblate.

Data from complementary experiments on the members of the (${3}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$\ensuremath{\nu}${f}_{7/2}$) multiplets in $_{_{60}^{143}}\mathrm{Nd}_{83}$, $_{_{62}^{145}}\mathrm{Sm}_{83}$, and $_{_{64}^{147}}\mathrm{Gd}_{83}$ are summarized and the particle-vibration coupling is investigated.

Beta-decay of 27/2− isomers in N=83 nuclei

In γ‐ray measurements of the 27/2− E3 isomer decays in 15168Er83 and 14966Dy83 at the on‐line mass‐separators at GSI and at ISOLDE‐CERN we have identified Gamow‐Teller β‐decay branches proceeding to high‐spin yrast states in the N=84 daughter nuclei 15167Ho84 and 14965Tb84.
